VBJ Launches ‘Parro’ Collection, Celebrating Nature Through Timeless Craftsmanship

VBJ – Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers has unveiled Parro – The Signature Parrot Collection, a distinctive jewellery line inspired by the parrot, a bird long associated with prosperity, love, wisdom, and freedom across cultures. The collection translates the bird’s vibrant character into elegant jewellery pieces that blend heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Drawing on more than 125 years of jewellery-making excellence, VBJ has transformed the iconic parrot motif into a sophisticated design language featuring intricate silhouettes, sculptural forms, and refined detailing. The result is a collection that combines traditional artistry with modern aesthetics, offering pieces that are both expressive and timeless.

Speaking about the launch, Amarendran Vummidi, Managing Partner of VBJ, said the collection goes beyond merely replicating nature’s beauty. Instead, it captures the essence of a bird that symbolizes joy, intelligence, and companionship in Indian culture. He noted that Parro reflects VBJ’s commitment to evolving heritage-inspired designs while staying rooted in exceptional craftsmanship.

Crafted in gold and diamonds, enhanced with vibrant gemstones and coloured enamel, the collection draws inspiration from the parrot’s emerald-green plumage, graceful movement, and striking presence. Featuring statement necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings, Parro is designed to balance luxury and versatility, making it suitable for both special occasions and everyday wear.

Jithendra Vummidi, Managing Partner of VBJ, highlighted the emotional significance of jewellery, noting that every purchase represents a personal story, milestone, or expression of individuality. He described Parro as a collection that offers customers distinctive, versatile pieces that seamlessly transition from celebratory moments to daily elegance.

The collection further showcases VBJ’s dedication to original design, with every motif conceptualised at the brand’s in-house Creative Centre and meticulously crafted by skilled artisans.

Sharing insights into the creative process, Anupam Karmakar, Creative Head at VBJ and a WorldSkills Expert, explained that the team sought to reinterpret the traditional “kili” motif rather than simply recreate the bird. Working alongside senior designer Ahalya, the team explored fluid forms, balanced proportions, and intricate details to create jewellery that feels contemporary while preserving its cultural roots. Every curve, gemstone placement, and enamel accent was carefully considered to ensure a harmonious blend of expression and timelessness.

As a fifth-generation family-owned jewellery house, VBJ is also renowned for creating the historic Sengol, a symbol deeply linked to India’s democratic heritage. Rediscovered through extensive research by the VBJ team, the Sengol was reinstated in the new Parliament building by Narendra Modi. Continuing its legacy of innovation and heritage, VBJ is also preparing to launch its largest jewellery showroom on Coimbatore’s 100ft Road.

With Parro, VBJ once again showcases its ability to transform inspiration from nature into meaningful jewellery creations, where imagination, craftsmanship, and tradition come together in designs that are both distinctive and enduring.
