GJEPC and BDB Organise Awareness Session on New Income Tax Framework

GJEPC and Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) jointly organised an outreach session under the ‘Prarambh 2026’ initiative in Mumbai on 8 May 2026. The session centred on the Income-Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026, with a special focus on international taxation and transfer pricing.
Smt Nirupama Kotru, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (International Taxation & Transfer Pricing), Western Zone, Mumbai, attended the programme as the chief guest, while Shri Mohit Jain, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai, graced the occasion as guest of honour.
The event also witnessed the presence of senior department officials including Shri Sanjay Deshmukh, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax (International Taxation); Shri Alok Kumar, Commissioner of Income Tax (Transfer Pricing); Smt Ramapriya Raghavan, Commissioner of Income Tax (Transfer Pricing); Shri Nischay Samaiya, CIT-OSD; and Shri Sanjeet Nair, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax.
The dignitaries were welcomed by Shri Shaunak Parikh, Vice Chairman, GJEPC; Smt Khushboo Ranawat, Western Regional Chairman, GJEPC; Shri Mehul Shah, Vice President, BDB; Shri Mittal Doshi, Convenor – BITC, GJEPC; and Shri Bharat Ghori, Co-Convenor, MSME, GJEPC.
Speaking at the event, Smt Kotru highlighted that the new Income-tax Act, 2025 aims to establish a simpler, more transparent, technology-enabled, and taxpayer-friendly system. She added that the department has initiated outreach programmes to foster stronger engagement with taxpayers, promote voluntary compliance, and strengthen trust between the government and industry.
