(Gem Diamonds’ Letseng mine in Lesotho has recovered its second +100-ct diamond of the year.
The miner described it as “an impressive 163.91-carat yellow diamond” from the United Kingdom.
However, it will be expecting for more. Large diamond recoveries were below average in year, with four +100-cts recovered compared to an annual average of eight since 2008.
So far this year, it has retrieved two. It recovered a 122-carat D colour Type II white diamond in March.
