The most expensive jewellery sale in France was driven by the top lot at the most recent Christie’s Paris auction, a 7.58-carat Kashmir sapphire that brought in $1 million.

According to Christie’s, the old cushion magnificent step-cut stone, which belonged to a royal family, more than twice its original $436,715 high price. The overall amount of the Joaillerie Paris sale, which took place from June 9 to June 21, was $12 million, exceeding the presale maximum estimate of $9.8 million.
