At the Bonhams HK auction, a 7.07 carat Burmese ruby will sparkle.

At the Bonhams Hong Kong Jewels and Jadeite sale on May 28, Bonhams will hold the eagerly anticipated fine jewellery auction. An extraordinary ruby and diamond ring with a rare and outstanding certified Burmese ruby is the star of the auction.

The mixed-cut, rectangular, cushion-shaped Burmese ruby measures 7.07 carats, making it rare both in terms of size and colour. According to one gemological report, the ruby is naturally “pigeons blood red,” with no enhancement.

The ruby was remounted in 2012 into its present mounting of 18 karat white and yellow gold set with 8 oval diamonds totaling 6.01 carats in weight and all verified by the GIA laboratory as being D colour, VVS1 to VS1 purity. The price range for the magnificent ring is between HK$6,800,000 and 8,800,000.
