“We have gathered here to acknowledge and to embrace the spirit of internationalism and recognise that we are indeed Global citizens. Today, our company Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK) stands as a testament to the power of embracing this interconnectedness. We have successfully fostered strong trade relations with 80+ countries across the globe. The diamonds we craft are more than just exquisite pieces; they carry the very essence of our company’s Diamonds are God philosophy”, remarked Shreyans Dholakia during his inaugural keynote speech.

During this B20 meet, the participants visited the Diamond Research and Mercantile City (DREAM City), an upcoming business centre in Surat, and Shree Ramkrishna Exports’ diamond crafting facility ‘SRK Empire’. Notably, this facility is one of the highest-ranking Green buildings in the world, and it, along with the second crafting facility, ‘SRK House,’ will be Net Zero by 2024–a first in the industry as well as in India.

Surat, as a significant commercial and economic centre in South Gujarat and one of the main urban regions in Western India, has a well-established diamond industry, with the city cutting and polishing almost 90% of the world’s diamond supply!

Gujarat is taking the lead in India’s G20 presidency, with a series of significant events set for July. “Among the segments, luxury growth will remain a sweet spot.” Surat will continue to contribute to India’s worldwide export by adding value to its products, with environmental and climate protection being at the heart of human civilization’s existence and continuity. Furthermore, countries like India, which are demographically and in terms of enhanced skill acquisition, are well placed to contribute significantly to global growth; India’s progress will thus be for the greater good,” Shreyans said.
