
Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK) has announced a groundbreaking achievement, becoming the first company globally to produce natural polished diamonds with a carbon-negative footprint. The declaration was made on June 25th, aligning with World Decarbonisation Day.
SRK reported a negative carbon footprint of –0.239 kg CO₂e per carat of polished diamond. On a broader scale, the company has offset more carbon emissions than it produced, resulting in a climate-positive footprint of –893 metric tonnes of CO₂e.
This accomplishment has been independently verified by Deutsch Quality Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd. and aligns with global environmental standards such as ISO 14064-1:2018, ISO 14067:2018, ISO 14068-1:2023, and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
