A five-day “Orientation Course in Gems Identification” was successfully completed at the GJEPC institute, IIGJ Jaipur, in an important step toward improving the expertise of Customs agents in the region. The training session, which ran from November 18th to 22nd, 2024, aimed to provide customs officials with the information and abilities required to effectively identify and assess precious gemstones.
A broad group of Customs personnel, including Assistant Commissioners of Customs, Additional Commissioners of Customs, Superintendents of Customs, Inspectors of Customs, and Preventive personnel, took part in the training. These personnel are stationed at key Customs offices in the region, including ACC-RAJSICO, ACC-JGE, and Jaipur SEZ.
The training program’s closing ceremony was attended by Shri Niraj Dubey, Additional Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur; Shri Budhiprakash, Joint Commissioner of Customs, SEZ, Jaipur; and Dr. Nawal Agarwal, Chairman of IIGJ Jaipur. During the ceremony, all participating officers received diplomas recognizing their successful completion of the course.
