The GJSCI has elected Milan Chokshi as its chairman.

The Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) has announced the election of Mr. Milan Chokshi as its new Chairman. The decision was made at a Board of Directors meeting held on October 15, 2024.

Chokshi, a well-known figure in the gem and jewellery sector, replaces Shri. Adil Kotwal, whose tenure was distinguished by major contributions to the Council. Under Kotwal’s guidance, GJSCI‘s JOSH program grew significantly, from a small location to the huge Bharat Ratnam CFC within SEEPZ. Kotwal was also instrumental in building JOSH’s new Specially Abled Persons Division.

Chokshi, a fourth-generation jeweler, gemmologist, and director of Tanvirkumar & Co., offers extensive experience to the position. He is also the Director of Bullion Operations at Diamond India Limited and an active member of the GJEPC‘s Administration Committee, where he serves as Convener — Promotions, Marketing, and Business Development. His dedication to education is reflected in his roles as a Managing Committee Member of Each One Teach One, an NGO, and Chairman of the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai, an institute run by GJEPC.

GJSCI stated it looks forward to reaching new heights under the leadership of Milan Chokshi, an industry veteran and the organization’s youngest Chairman to date. “His enthusiasm would surely foster the objective of skilling the youth of the nation and facilitate industry support,” it reads.
