Maggi Simpkins, a Los Angeles-based artist and jeweller, partnered with Bose on a brilliant pair of diamond-set headphones, which were worn by musician Kenzie Ziegler at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
The bespoke Bose Ultra Open Earbuds were set with an array of white diamonds, perfectly combining functionality and fashion.
Many of the diamonds in Simpkins’ earbud design were custom-cut to fit the headphones before being set in yellow gold.
“The goal was to produce something visible and sparkling onstage. “I wanted the buds to be an eye-catching statement piece, but not to overpower her look,” said Maggi Simpkins.
This isn’t the first time the tech business has worked with a fine jeweler. Bose has also commissioned artist Victor Solomon to create a pair of gold-plated, diamond-set earbuds for USA Basketball’s Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton. Meanwhile, for the 2024 Grammy Awards, the brand collaborated with Atlanta-based jewelry company Icebox to encase another pair of its earphones in 365 diamonds for Colombian artist Maluma, who wore them on the red carpet.
