India’s C&P diamonds export fall 19.69% for January

According to the released provisional statistics pertaining to export and import of Gem & Jewellery (GJ) for the period of January 2024 for the Cut & Polished (C&P) Diamonds segment.

The overall gross export of Cut & Polished diamonds at US$ 1160.79 million (Rs. 9647.24 crores) in month of January 2024 is showing a decline of 19.69% (-18.460% in Rs. Term) as compared to US$ 1445.37 million (Rs. 11831.98 crores) for the same period of previous year.

The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds at US$ 163.87 million (Rs. 1362.57 crores) in month of January 2024 is showing a growth of 72.05% (74.83% in Rs. term) as compared to US$ 95.24 million (Rs. 779.37 crores) for the same period of previous year.

The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in DTA at US$ 41.29 million (Rs. 343.39 crores) in month of January 2024 is showing a Growth of 8.06(9.93% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 38.21(Rs 312.37 crores) for the same period of January 2023.

The overall gross Imports of Cut & Polished diamonds in SEZ at US$ 122.58 million (Rs. 1019.19 crores) in month of January 2024 is showing a Growth of 114.93(118.24% Rs. term) as compared to US$ 57.03(Rs 467.0 crores) for the same period of January 2023.
