India’s GDP increased by 7.6 percent in the second quarter.

The National Statistical Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, is providing GDP estimates for the July-September quarter (Q2) of 2023-24 in both Constant (2011-12) and Current Prices in this Press Note.

Real GDP or GDP at Constant (2011-12) Prices is expected to reach Rs 41.74 lakh crore in Q2 2023-24, up from Rs 38.78 lakh crore in Q2 2022-23, representing a 7.6 percent increase over Q2 2022-23.

Nominal GDP or GDP at Current Prices is expected to be Rs 71.66 lakh crore in Q2 2023-24, up from Rs 65.67 lakh crore in Q2 2022-23, representing a 9.1 percent increase from 17.2 percent in Q2 2022-23. GDP at Constant (2011-12) Prices in April-September 2023-24 (H1 2023-24) is anticipated at Rs 82.11 lakh crore, up from Rs 76.22 lakh crore in the previous year’s similar period, representing a 7.7 percent increase in H1 2023-24 versus 9.5 percent in H1 2022-23.

GDP at Current Prices is anticipated to be Rs 142.33 lakh crore in H1 2023-24, up from Rs 131.09 lakh crore in the previous year’s corresponding period, representing an 8.6 percent increase in H1 2023-24 compared to 22.2 percent in H1 2022-23.
