On the first anniversary of the India-UAE CEPA‘s adoption on May 1, 2023, Indian Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal congratulated the people of India and the UAE.
Barthwal stated that efforts are still being made by both parties to increase the two nations’ ease of doing business. The Commerce Secretary emphasised how important the CEPA has been in boosting bilateral trade between the two countries during the past 11 months.
According to CEPA, which went into effect on May 1, 2022, India is permitted to import 140 MT from the UAE in 2023–2024 with a 1% tax reduction compared to the effective customs duty or the Most Favoured Nation rate, which is 15%.
