In collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India, the Government of India has decided to issue Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) in the following tranches:

SGBs will be sold through Scheduled Commercial Banks (with the exception of Small Finance Banks, Payment Banks, and Regional Rural Banks), Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL), designated post offices, and recognized stock exchanges, namely the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and the Bombay Stock Exchange Limited.
The selling of the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2023-24 will be limited to resident people, HUFs, Trusts, Universities, and Charitable Institutions. The tenor of the SGB will be eight years, with an option for premature redemption after the fifth year to be exercised on the date interest is payable.
