Mumbai’s luxury jewellery landscape welcomes a new entrant with the launch of Jacarti Jewellery, a contemporary fine jewellery brand that reimagines the traditional art of polki and jadau through modern design, cutting-edge technology, and master craftsmanship.
Founded by Preity G. Zinta, Priyavrata Mafatlal of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, and Samara Punjabi of UAE-based Timeless Group, Jacarti introduces its proprietary Merai technique. By integrating CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, and precision engineering with the expertise of skilled artisans, the brand delivers intricate designs that combine heritage aesthetics with enhanced comfort, consistency, and efficiency.
Derived from Meru, the mythical golden mountain, and Rai, meaning a ray of light, the Merai process is designed to create exceptional luminosity in gold, reflecting the brand’s vision of blending tradition with innovation.
Jacarti aims to preserve the timeless appeal of polki jewellery while presenting it in a form that resonates with today’s discerning luxury consumer. The collection is available through the brand’s e-commerce platform and its flagship boutique in Bandra, Mumbai.
Speaking on the launch, Preity G. Zinta said the brand was created to honour India’s jewellery heritage while adapting it to the preferences of the modern woman, who seeks both tradition and contemporary design in equal measure.
Priyavrata Mafatlal emphasised the enduring value of jewellery as a symbol of family legacy, noting that Jacarti’s vision is to create pieces that carry meaning, memories, and craftsmanship across generations. Drawing on his experience as a fifth-generation industrialist and Vice Chairman of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, he will guide the brand’s long-term growth and strategic direction.
Bringing an international perspective to the venture, Samara Punjabi contributes extensive expertise in luxury retail and brand building through her leadership of the Timeless Group in the UAE. Her understanding of evolving consumer preferences and luxury experiences is expected to play a key role in shaping Jacarti’s retail and brand strategy.
