Thrissur Retailers Show Strong Interest in IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026 at GJEPC Connect Programme

GJEPC, in association with the Jewellery Manufacturers Association (JMA), hosted a Retailers’ Connect programme in Thrissur, Kerala, which received an enthusiastic response from the jewellery fraternity. The event witnessed participation from 85 retail jewellers.

Addressing the gathering, Naheed Sunke, Assistant Director – National Events, GJEPC, provided insights into the Council’s major initiatives, industry support mechanisms, and trade facilitation programmes aimed at strengthening the gem and jewellery sector.

Deepa Rajendran, Coordinator – Kerala, GJEPC, presented an overview of IIJS Bharat Premiere 2026, scheduled to take place at JWCC, BKC from 5th to 9th August 2026 and at BEC, Goregaon from 6th to 10th August 2026. She also explained the advantages of the Advance Visitor Registration (AVR) packages and assisted attendees with the registration process.

Murali Ayyar, Category Head – Retail Trade, De Beers India, introduced the INDRA initiative, highlighting its value and growth potential for jewellery retailers and the wider industry.

The programme generated significant interest, resulting in 50 spot AVR registrations, reflecting the eagerness of Thrissur’s jewellery retailers to attend the upcoming edition of IIJS Bharat Premiere.

One of the notable outcomes of the event was JMA’s proposal to host a Parichay Card Camp at its premises, with the association committing participation from approximately 500–700 members and workers. Additionally, efforts were initiated to block more than 30 rooms at a budget hotel for JMA members planning to visit the exhibition.
