Farah Khan Ali Launches Flagship Boutique in Fort, Mumbai

Housed within Chemco House, a heritage landmark in Fort’s Art Deco precinct, the newly opened Farah Khan Fine Jewellery boutique makes a striking impression even before entry. Framed by French canapés in the brand’s signature apricot amber hue, the façade exudes a warm, understated elegance. Expansive display windows, softened with lush greenery and delicate white blooms, create an inviting, almost theatrical streetscape—where Mumbai’s architectural legacy meets contemporary design sensibilities.

Inside, angel-inspired door handles introduce a space that feels less like a retail store and more like an immersive experience—intimate, atmospheric, and thoughtfully layered. Designed as a sanctuary of “slow luxury,” the boutique invites visitors to pause and engage with jewellery in a more meaningful way.

The launch was marked by an exclusive evening attended by prominent names including Rekha, Twinkle Khanna, Bobby Deol, Dia Mirza, Sussanne Khan, Sushmita Sen, Manisha Koirala, and Zoya Akhtar, alongside the unveiling of the Zarine Khan collection. The gathering celebrated not just design excellence, but longstanding relationships with patrons and admirers of the brand.

Conceptualised by Farah Khan Ali and brought to life by Usama Patel of Studio Nineteen, the boutique reflects a deeply collaborative vision. Designed as a gallery-like space, the interiors unfold in soft layers of champagne, ivory, warm sand, and apricot amber tones, allowing gemstones and gold to stand out with quiet brilliance.

From lacquered furniture with gold-leaf detailing to an organic herringbone floor, every element balances heritage charm with contemporary refinement. A sculptural triangular display at the centre, adorned with bird and floral motifs, anchors the space, echoing the poetic language of the jewellery itself.

Lighting plays a pivotal role—Art Deco lamps, delicate dragonfly fixtures, and layered illumination create a warm, glowing ambiance that enhances each piece. Intricate details such as bird-shaped handles and engraved display tables bearing the phrase “I Am A Miracle” subtly reinforce the brand’s signature Aayat motif, symbolising meaning and identity.

A deeply personal highlight is the tribute to Zarine Sanjay Khan, Farah’s late mother and muse, whose legacy of elegance and individuality is honoured through a dedicated display.

Further within, a private lounge offers a more intimate setting, blending French-inspired décor with Mughal influences. Plush seating, paisley textiles, and soft lighting create a serene, salon-like atmosphere for personalised experiences.

Throughout the boutique, each display is curated as a storytelling moment—allowing collections to breathe and unfold naturally. The space strikes a refined balance between heritage and modernity, ornamentation and restraint.

As Farah Khan Ali describes it, the boutique is not just a retail destination but a world—one where craftsmanship, emotion, and design come together, inviting visitors to experience jewellery as an extension of their own story.
