Yuliya Kutovaya Unveils ‘Dilorom’ and ‘Shibirma’ at Red Sea Film Festival
Jewellery designer and founder of Yuliya Kutovaya Jewelry, Yuliya Kutovaya, presented a refreshed interpretation of her signature Shibirma collection alongside a new line, Dilorom, at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia. The latest creations draw inspiration from the lyrical beauty and symbolism of Eastern poetry.
Both collections are defined by sculptural volume, vibrant gemstones, intricate ornamental detailing, and a seamless blend of contemporary design with the classical decorative traditions of Uzbekistan. Each piece reflects meticulous craftsmanship and a harmonious combination of artistic techniques.
Dilorom
The Dilorom collection takes inspiration from the character Dilorom in Seven Planets by Alisher Navoi, as well as the opera Dilorom by Uzbek composer Mukhtar Ashrafi, which was based on the epic poem.
The design narrative centres on themes of love and tenderness, expressed through a soft gemstone palette and airy silhouettes embellished with delicate arabesque motifs.
Shibirma
Shibirma draws from the tradition of elaborate openwork volumetric earrings that were historically gifted to brides in the early 20th century. Reimagining this heritage design, Kutovaya enhanced the earrings’ refined silhouette with ornamental details inspired by the carved wooden columns of the iconic Bolo Hauz Mosque in the historic city of Bukhara.
The international runway debut of the collections took place at the Red Sea Film Festival, where renowned Uzbek model and guest Vazira John wore Shibirma and Dilorom earrings at the opening and closing ceremonies, showcasing the designs on the red carpet.
Speaking about the showcase, Yuliya Kutovaya noted that the jewellery embodies history, culture, and national identity, reflecting the tradition of passing treasured pieces through generations. She described Shibirma Red as her tribute to the beauty of Bukhara, while Dilorom represents love and poetic heritage, brought to life with a modern voice.
