Tanishq Presents ‘Desert Diamonds’ at Paris Couture Week with Rahul Mishra

Tanishq, India’s largest jewellery brand from the House of Tata, reinforced its global luxury ambitions with its fourth appearance at Paris Couture Week 2026. The showcase marked a significant milestone in the brand’s international journey, underscoring its evolution into a design-driven, globally aspirational jewellery maison. Continuing its acclaimed partnership with celebrated couturier Rahul Mishra, Tanishq unveiled a striking high-jewellery presentation dedicated entirely to its evocative Desert Diamonds collection.

Rooted in the idea that choosing a desert-born diamond is choosing something truly singular, the collection highlights diamonds shaped over millennia, carrying the colours and character of the landscapes from which they originate. Building on its consistent presence at Paris Couture Week since 2023, Tanishq placed the spotlight on the provenance of natural diamonds—stones that embody the spirit of vast desert terrains. Featuring a rare palette of natural hues, from warm whites and honey tones to whiskey and sunset browns, Desert Diamonds are prized for their individuality, subtle tonal depth and quiet strength, appealing to true connoisseurs of rarity and refined expression.

Rahul Mishra’s Spring 2026 couture collection, Alchemy, served as a poetic counterpart to the jewellery. Inspired by the elemental and cosmic origins of life, the collection explored the interplay of space, air, fire, water and earth—symbolising creation, transformation and continuity. Through texture, movement and scale, Mishra translated these unseen forces into couture, mirroring the slow, patient formation of natural diamonds over billions of years. The shared philosophy celebrated time, balance and resilience as the essence of both couture and high jewellery.

The jewellery showcased in Paris echoed this elemental narrative, with Tanishq’s naturally coloured Desert Diamonds crafted into bold, sculptural forms that balanced strength with subtlety. Each piece reflected the timeless desert landscape and the meticulous artistry behind its creation. Following a successful debut in the United States, Tanishq is now introducing these exceptionally rare diamonds to India, offering collectors access to natural diamonds defined by provenance, individuality and elegance. Designed as wearable art, the creations elevated high jewellery on one of fashion’s most prestigious global stages.

Every piece presented was the result of extensive design exploration, hundreds of artisanal hours, intricate craftsmanship and uncompromising attention to detail—showcasing Indian artistry alongside the world’s finest luxury maisons. With its fourth Paris Couture Week appearance, Tanishq continues to strengthen its global positioning, bringing a fresh, innovative perspective to natural diamonds through the Desert Diamonds collection, created in collaboration with the De Beers Group.

Commenting on the brand’s continued presence at Paris Couture Week, Pelki Tshering, Chief Marketing Officer, Tanishq, said the platform reflects Tanishq’s belief that Indian jewellery can engage the world through a universal language of design, rarity and expression. She noted that Desert Diamonds, developed with De Beers, tell a story shaped by nature and refined by design—one that feels both deeply rooted and globally relevant—while the collaboration with Rahul Mishra brings this vision to life on one of fashion’s most influential stages.

Garima Maheshwari, Head of Design, Tanishq, highlighted that the third collaboration with Rahul Mishra deepened the creative dialogue between couture and high jewellery. She explained that the rare natural hues of Desert Diamonds were expressed through bold, sculptural forms and intricate settings, reinforcing a shared commitment to authenticity, rarity and confident global representation of Indian high jewellery.

Shweta Harit, Global Senior Vice President, De Beers, described Desert Diamonds as a testament to the long-standing partnership between De Beers and Tanishq. She noted that each stone reflects a unique origin story, celebrating the natural beauty and individuality that only nature can create. Having debuted in the USA, the collection’s introduction to India at Paris Couture Week further reinforces the partners’ shared commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity.

Rahul Mishra, Founder and Creative Director, said the collaboration represents a meeting of philosophies shaped by time, nature and human craftsmanship. He added that Desert Diamonds resonate deeply with his Alchemy collection, which explores elemental forces and transformation. Presenting this dialogue at Paris Haute Couture Week, he said, honours rarity not only in materials but also in thought, process and artistry—showcasing Indian creativity on a global stage while remaining rooted in heritage and expressed through contemporary design.
