PC Jeweller Unveils Programme to Empower 1,000 Goldsmiths in Uttar Pradesh

PC Jeweller, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, has launched a major initiative to help 1,000 certified goldsmiths transition into independent jewellery entrepreneurs. Implemented under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojana and aligned with the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, the programme focuses on uplifting traditional artisans from rural and semi-urban regions.
The initiative aims to connect time-honoured craftsmanship with modern retail requirements. Participating artisans will gain support in areas such as jewellery design, branding, marketing, and contemporary business management.
Goldsmiths will also be trained in digital tools, organised retail systems, and customer engagement—key skills for successfully entering the formal jewellery market. PC Jeweller will further assist in creating market linkages, enabling artisans to expand beyond local customers and access wider consumer segments.
By helping craftsmen establish structured, sustainable jewellery businesses, the initiative is expected to improve income stability and foster long-term industry growth. The programme complements government efforts to nurture entrepreneurship among traditional craft communities while strengthening regional jewellery manufacturing.
With Uttar Pradesh serving as a significant centre of jewellery craftsmanship, this partnership is set to boost grassroots enterprise development while preserving the state’s artisanal legacy within the organised sector.
