Outreach Programme on Customs Procedures Conducted for MSME Exporters

GJEPC, BDB, and Customs APSC jointly organised an Outreach Programme on Customs Procedures for MSME exporters in the gems and jewellery sector on 19th November 2025 at the Bharat Diamond Bourse, Mumbai. The session aimed to enhance compliance awareness, promote export facilitation schemes, and guide MSMEs on the latest policy updates.
In his keynote address, Harsh Singh, Joint Commissioner of Customs, provided in-depth explanations of export documentation norms, refund processes, digital transformation initiatives, and government schemes tailored for MSMEs. He highlighted mandatory shipping bill data fields for diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery to help avoid delays or queries. He also covered common compliance mistakes, ease-of-doing-business improvements, key refund and exemption schemes, the personal carriage facility, working capital optimization strategies, and the broader compliance framework for MSMEs. His presentation offered practical guidance to minimise errors, speed up clearances, and maximise export-related benefits.
An interactive Q&A session followed, during which Harsh Singh and Jayesh Jadhav, Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Export), responded to participant queries.
