Outreach Program on Customs Procedures Conducted for MSME Exporters

An Outreach Program focused on Customs Procedures for MSME exporters in the gems and jewellery sector was jointly organised by GJEPC, BDB, and Customs APSC on 19th November 2025 at the Bharat Diamond Bourse, Mumbai. The session aimed to enhance compliance awareness, promote export facilitation schemes, and brief MSMEs on recently introduced policy reforms.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Harsh Singh, Joint Commissioner of Customs, shared comprehensive insights on export documentation requirements, refund processes, digital modernization initiatives, and various Government schemes designed to support MSMEs. He also elaborated on mandatory shipping bill data fields for diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery to help avoid delays and queries. In addition, he covered common compliance errors, ease-of-doing-business measures, key refund and exemption schemes, the Personal Carriage Facility, working capital optimisation strategies, and the overall compliance framework for MSMEs. His presentation offered practical guidance to help exporters minimise mistakes, speed up clearances, and maximise eligible refunds.
During the interactive session, Mr. Harsh Singh and Mr. Jayesh Jadhav, Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Export), addressed questions raised by participants.
