Yuliya Kutovaya Launches ‘Doppi Tassels’ Collection Inspired by Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage

Renowned jewellery designer Yuliya Kutovaya has unveiled her latest creation, the ‘Doppi Tassels’ collection — a stunning tribute to the rich aesthetics of Uzbekistan’s traditional attire. Drawing inspiration from the tubeteika (doppi), an iconic Uzbek headpiece, the collection weaves a poetic “jewellery story” celebrating the nation’s cultural legacy. The campaign features celebrated Uzbek model and Cannes Film Festival guest Vazira John.
From an early age, Kutovaya was captivated by the intricate beauty of Uzbekistan’s national garments and headpieces — vibrant, embroidered, and alive with movement. Tubeteikas, long regarded as symbols of identity, reveal one’s social standing, age, and regional roots through their distinct patterns and designs.
At the heart of the Doppi Tassels concept lies the idea of motion and ornamentation. The jewels emulate the tassels traditionally adorning Uzbek tubeteikas, capturing their rhythmic sway and vivid color palette.
The highlight of the collection — yellow gold earrings embellished with diamonds and strands of black tourmaline beads — features a central element shaped like a tubeteika, complete with a refined Oriental motif that evokes the spirit of Eastern elegance.
Based in Tashkent, Yuliya Kutovaya Jewelry is known for its distinctive demi-couture craftsmanship. Each piece merges artisanal handwork with cutting-edge jewellery-making technology, combining gold, natural gemstones, and pearls to create designs that embody both innovation and timeless artistry.
