IIG’s Retail Strategy Bootcamp Series Sets a New Benchmark in Jewellery Business Learning

Gujarat Chapter: The International Institute of Gemology (IIG), Gujarat, achieved a remarkable milestone with the debut of its first-ever Retail Strategy Bootcamp — an innovative learning initiative designed to bring together jewellery retailers, business owners, and emerging entrepreneurs.

Led by Khushi Gupta, IIG’s Regional Head for Gujarat and Co-Founder of Brand Verse, the Gujarat Chapter was conceptualised, curated, and marketed by Brand Verse, IIG’s official marketing partner. The event was powered by Dassani Brothers as Sponsor, supported by Ridhira Jewels as the Goodies Partner, and organised in association with the Jewellers Association, Ahmedabad.

The bootcamp drew participation from leading jewellers and professionals across the state and was graced by Mr. Jigar Soni, President of the Jewellers Association, Ahmedabad, as the guest of honour. What truly set the event apart was its practical, hands-on approach — exploring key pillars shaping the future of jewellery retail, including Strategy, Effective Branding, Team Communication & Training, and AI’s Role in Retail, through interactive exercises, case studies, and actionable insights.

The initiative stemmed from IIG’s belief that modern jewellery professionals need more than technical know-how — they require contemporary business acumen that blends creativity, commerce, and consumer psychology. Designed as a compact, real-world learning format, the bootcamp reimagined business education for the jewellery sector, turning complex B-school concepts into accessible, result-driven lessons.

Rahul Desai, CEO & Managing Director of IIG, known for simplifying business insights through platforms like his Loupe Insight podcast and LinkedIn lessons, shared,

“Jewellery retail isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about understanding people, emotion, and trust. Through this bootcamp, we wanted to empower jewellers to think strategically and apply insights that ensure sustainable growth. Our vision is to make business education both relevant and actionable for this industry.”

Echoing his thoughts, Gunjan Sapra, COO and Head of the Jewellery Design Department, noted,

“This initiative bridges creativity with commerce. A modern jeweller must think like a designer, speak like a storyteller, and act like a strategist. The overwhelming response in Gujarat proved that the industry is eager for such transformation.”

Adding her perspective, Khushi Gupta commented,

“AI and creativity are not rivals — they complement each other. At Brand Verse, we’ve seen how technology amplifies imagination. Partnering with IIG allowed us to create an experience that blended strategy, storytelling, and innovation into what felt like couture learning.”

The successful Gujarat edition marks the start of a nationwide movement. With upcoming chapters planned across major cities, the IIG Retail Strategy Bootcamp aims to reshape how business education reaches the jewellery industry — one city, one chapter at a time — offering sharp, experiential, and future-focused learning that connects heritage craftsmanship with modern strategy.
