Tiffany & Co. Reimagines Its Iconic Bird on a Rock Motif in a New Jewelry Collection

Tiffany & Co. has unveiled a bold new chapter for one of its most iconic designs with the launch of Bird on a Rock by Tiffany, a reimagining of Jean Schlumberger’s legendary motif. Spearheaded by Nathalie Verdeille, Tiffany’s Chief Artistic Officer of Jewelry and High Jewelry, the collection brings a fresh, contemporary perspective to the beloved symbol.

The new release includes both high jewelry suites and, for the first time, fine jewelry interpretations, all celebrating the spirit of love, freedom, and infinite possibility. Central to the collection is the wing motif, a sculptural and poetic element inspired by the intricate texture and movement of bird feathers, expressed through diamonds and precious metals.

“In creating the high jewelry designs, we approached birds just as Schlumberger did—by closely studying their postures, feathers, and wing structures to bring movement and vitality to each piece,” said Verdeille. “For the fine jewelry line, we shifted our view—distilling the bird down to its most essential form, the wing—stylizing it into bold, abstract, and textured patterns.”

Two High Jewelry Suites: Tanzanite and Turquoise

The high jewelry collection features two standout suites:

• Tanzanite Suite – Showcasing Tiffany’s signature gemstone first introduced in 1968, this suite includes a necklace, bracelet, and earrings that highlight the vivid blue-violet stone.
• Turquoise Suite – Paying tribute to Schlumberger’s love of turquoise, the centerpiece is a statement necklace with a diamond bird clutching strands of cabochon turquoise, adorned with gold and diamond feather accents, and finished with a dramatic turquoise drop. The suite also includes a brooch, pendant, and ring.

Fine Jewelry Collection: Abstract Elegance Meets Iconic Design

In the Bird on a Rock by Tiffany fine jewelry line, the elegance and imagination of Schlumberger’s original brooch are transformed into modern, textural forms. These designs embrace nature’s asymmetry and individuality—core inspirations for Schlumberger—and feature both figurative and abstract bird elements crafted with Tiffany’s renowned attention to detail.

The Bird on a Rock by Tiffany Wings series introduces abstract wing motifs with hidden diamond settings, creating the illusion of floating stones. Certain styles are designed for versatility, like a pair of convertible earrings that can be worn four different ways—from striking drops to minimalist studs.
