NITI Aayog’s Dr. Arvind Virmani Applauds IIGJ Jaipur for Advancing Skill Development

Dr. Arvind Virmani, Hon’ble Member of NITI Aayog, visited the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Jaipur, managed by GJEPC, on 3rd October. He was warmly received by IIGJ Jaipur Chairman Shri Sudhir Kothari and Vice Chairman Shri Sanjay Kala. During his visit, Dr. Virmani interacted with students, reviewed the institute’s curriculum, and observed the Tarang skilling initiative in action.
He also toured the IIGJ Laboratory, where Director Shri Anand Rao and CEO Smt. Nirupa Bhatt welcomed him, before proceeding to the SEZ and EPIP jewellery manufacturing units. There, he engaged with artisans and exporters, expressing his support on key matters such as RMS, compliance, SEZ-DTA trade, inter-SEZ transfers, and CSR contributions for skill development. Dr. Virmani also assured that infrastructure-related concerns would be raised with the state government.
The visit was attended by several dignitaries, including Shri Noman Hafiz, Deputy Development Commissioner, Noida SEZ; Shri Pankaj Sharma, Assistant Development Commissioner, Jaipur SEZ; Shri S.G. Kansal, Deputy Commissioner, Customs, Jaipur SEZ; and Shri Subhash Sharma, Joint Commissioner, DIC, Government of Rajasthan, along with officials from the Industries Department, RIICO, and SEZ Customs.
