VBJ Since 1900 (Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers), one of India’s most trusted heritage jewellery brands, has officially launched its first Jhumka Festival, a month-long event that celebrates traditional and contemporary design, running from October 1 to October 31, 2025.

The festival is a tribute to South Indian traditions, reinterpreted for modern women. It features a remarkable collection of gold, silver, and diamond jhumkas, capturing the rich variety of feminine style in India. The range includes heritage temple-inspired designs, bold and event-worthy styles, diamond-accented pieces, and lightweight “baby jhumkas” that offer both charm and comfort. Created for younger shoppers, professionals, and jewellery enthusiasts, the collection balances elegance, versatility, and modern-day wearability. The lighter designs follow current fashion trends, making them stylish yet attainable.

As a legacy brand passed down through five generations, VBJ is known for its historical contributions, including crafting the Sengol (a ceremonial sceptre)—a symbol of India’s democratic spirit. This sceptre was recently rediscovered after more than seven decades and now sits in the new Indian Parliament near the Speaker’s seat. The Jhumka Festival builds on this prestigious heritage, celebrating the enduring appeal of one of India’s most beloved jewellery types.
