Amit Pratihari Appointed Managing Director of GIA India Laboratory Pvt. Ltd.

The Board of Directors of Gemological Institute of America India Laboratory Pvt. Ltd. (GIA India) has announced the appointment of Amit Pratihari as Managing Director. In his new role, he will oversee all operations of GIA India’s gemmological laboratories in Mumbai and Surat, as well as the GIA India School in Mumbai. Pratihari officially took charge on October 1, reporting directly to the GIA India Board of Directors.

“Amit’s extensive background in retail and brand management, combined with over a decade of experience in the diamond industry, positions him perfectly to further strengthen the role and reputation of GIA India’s laboratories,” said Sriram Natarajan, Director on the GIA India Board and Senior Vice President of Laboratory Operations for GIA, Inc. “His strategic vision and leadership are particularly valuable as India continues to play a central role in the global diamond trade and grows as a major consumer market.”

Before joining GIA India, Pratihari served as Managing Director of De Beers India and Forevermark India, where he played a key role in strengthening the brand’s presence across India and the Middle East. Prior to that, he spent a decade with De Beers’ retail division in India, following ten years of experience in consumer retail and brand management.
