
On the third day of GJEPC’s 4th Exporter Mentorship Programme (EMP), running from 22nd to 26th September across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, participants gained deeper exposure to the UAE jewellery market through interactive sessions and field visits.
Session with Ms. Zarin Suhail: Drawing on 18 years of experience in jewellery merchandising, product development, and brand building, Ms. Suhail led a dynamic session on prevailing trends in diamond, silver, gemstone, and gold jewellery. She shared her experience of developing a jewellery brand for a client, illustrated through a creative “family tree of jewellery lineage.” A lively Q&A offered valuable practical and strategic insights into diamond jewellery business metrics.
Madinat Zayed Souq (Abu Dhabi): Delegates explored the traditional souq, where they discovered jewellery styles unique to Abu Dhabi and largely tailored to Middle Eastern consumer preferences.
Gold Market – Hamdan Street (Abu Dhabi): A guided drive-through of the bustling jewellery hub showcased the variety of gold, diamond, and silver jewellery retailers, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s diverse retail ecosystem.
The day’s activities reinforced the distinct consumer trends within the UAE, helping participants better understand how regional dynamics influence design choices, demand patterns, and business opportunities.
