
The convocation ceremony was honored by the presence of two distinguished guests — Dr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman of Joyalukkas Group, who attended as the Chief Guest, and Samruddhi V Manjunath, CMD of SiriSamruddhi Gold Palace Pvt. Ltd. and Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, who joined as the Guest of Honor. Book Launch – Spreading Joy
The occasion also featured the Bengaluru launch of Dr. Joy Alukkas’ autobiography, Spreading Joy. Each graduate was gifted a signed copy, making the event especially memorable and encouraging.
B.Voc Program Unveiled
A significant highlight was the launch of the B.Voc in Gems & Jewellery Design, introduced by IIG South in collaboration with Jain (Deemed-to-be) University. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Easwaran S Iyer, Vice Chancellor of Jain University, strengthening the institute’s academic reach.
Coffee with Chetan Kumar Mehta – 15th Edition
The 15th session of “Coffee with Chetan Kumar Mehta” hosted a special dialogue with Dr. Joy Alukkas, who openly shared his journey of building one of the world’s most recognized jewellery brands. His story left the audience deeply inspired.

An exhibition of handcrafted ornaments, jewellery sketches, and award-winning designs highlighted students’ innovation and craftsmanship, reinforcing IIG South’s focus on creativity and design excellence.
