The Natural Diamond Council (NDC), in partnership with the Choron Group and the Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF), has launched a detailed report focused on fancy colour diamonds. Coinciding with the start of Paris Couture Week, the Fancy Colour Diamond Report aims to spotlight the rarity and allure of these natural treasures on a global stage.
This first-of-its-kind report offers an in-depth look into the world of fancy colour diamonds, drawing perspectives from gemmologists, collectors, auction houses, and luxury retailers. It explores their geological formation, complex colour grading, evolving market values, and the broader trends shaping their desirability.
“Fancy colour diamonds represent the pinnacle of individuality and rarity,” said David Kellie, CEO of NDC. “Each stone reflects Earth’s awe-inspiring beauty and strength. With creativity and bold colour now in the spotlight, we created this report as a trusted resource for media, retailers, and enthusiasts alike through our global network of partners and experts.”
The report also traces the origins of fancy colour diamonds to key regions including Canada, Botswana, and Australia, and examines how cutters focus on enhancing colour brilliance rather than size or clarity.
Roy Safit, CEO of FCRF, noted, “Despite global economic uncertainty, the fancy colour diamond sector has shown resilience. The market has evolved strategically, reflecting growing maturity and the enduring appeal of vividly coloured stones.”
Anshul Gandhi, CEO of the Choron Group, added, “Fancy colour diamonds occupy a uniquely prestigious niche that requires deep knowledge of gemmology and craftsmanship. With our decades of experience, we work closely with discerning buyers, collectors, and luxury brands across the full range of fancy colour diamonds.”
