Jewelers of America Presents Inaugural Impact Initiative Grants to Advance Industry Development

Jewelers of America (JA) has revealed the first-ever recipients of its Impact Initiative Grants, providing financial support to six jewelry-related organizations for initiatives aimed at driving industry growth and development.

These selected groups span both local and international sectors and are engaged in a variety of programs centered around education, accessibility, innovation, sustainability, and ethics. The primary goal of the Impact Initiative is to uplift future generations, encourage ethical practices, and raise overall industry benchmarks.

JA President and CEO David J. Bonaparte stated, “We strongly believe in the value of community, education, and empowerment. The organizations chosen for this first round of Impact Initiative grants share our vision of strengthening the jewelry industry. We’re excited to back these efforts and anticipate their collective impact will bring about real change.”

Some of the grant recipients include:

  • BIJC Education Fund, for its Future Jewelers Academy launched in 2025, which introduces high school students from marginalized backgrounds to career opportunities in jewelry through hands-on experience, mentoring, and training in areas like watchmaking, gemology, and design—preserving artisanal skills and sparking new interest in the trade.
  • Diamonds Do Good, a nonprofit established in 2007, received funding to further its mission of promoting the social and environmental benefits of natural diamonds. It showcases inspiring stories of education and entrepreneurship from diamond-producing regions and emphasizes ethical business practices.
  • Jewelers Security Alliance (JSA), awarded a grant for its upcoming Security Certification Program, a nationwide effort to train professionals in key safety and emergency response protocols. The certification will focus on digital and physical security, robbery prevention, and up-to-date law enforcement strategies.

This initiative by JA represents a meaningful move toward building a jewelry industry that is more equitable, forward-thinking, and socially responsible.
