At the JCK Las Vegas show, the Natural Diamond Council hosted an elegant “House of Botswana” evening at the Natural Diamond Club, located at Yardbird Table & Bar in the Venetian, to celebrate Botswana’s extraordinary diamond legacy.
The evening’s highlight was a keynote speech by His Excellency President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko, who spoke passionately about Botswana’s 50-year journey with natural diamonds. “Our diamonds have built schools, improved infrastructure, and created opportunities for generations of Batswana,” he said. “We want the world to recognize our diamonds not just as natural, but as uniquely Botswanan—diamonds with meaning.”
Following the keynote, a fireside chat moderated by Paige Reddinger, Watch and Jewellery Editor at Robb Report, explored Botswana’s impact on the global luxury sector.
The evening concluded with a dynamic panel discussion led by Botswana’s Minister of Minerals & Energy, Bogolo Joy Kenewendo. She emphasized the premium status of natural diamonds, stating, “We place natural diamonds on a pedestal—they occupy the top tier of luxury, not in competition with synthetics.” She also underlined the role of consumer trust in promoting transparency and inclusion across the industry.
