The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has named Neil Ventura as a Special Advisor to its Precious Stones Ecosystem, a strategic decision aimed at strengthening its role as a worldwide center for the diamond and precious stones market.
Ventura, an industry expert with more than 30 years of global experience, brings significant knowledge from his time at De Beers and Anglo American. While at De Beers, he was instrumental in leading transformative projects such as the De Beers Auction Sales platform, the Tracr blockchain-based traceability system, Lightbox lab-grown diamonds, and the GemFair initiative that supports artisanal miners.
In his new position at DMCC, Ventura will provide strategic guidance on various initiatives within the Precious Stones Ecosystem, which is supported by the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE). His duties will encompass driving market growth, advocating for ethical sourcing and compliance, and increasing global visibility to draw in new participants in both the natural and lab-grown diamond sectors.
“Neil’s appointment strengthens DMCC’s dedication to innovation, transparency, and ethical practices within the global precious stones market,” remarked a spokesperson for DMCC.
In addition to his role at DMCC, Ventura acts as an Expert Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and as an advisor at Antler, a worldwide early-stage venture capital firm, maintaining robust connections with the international innovation and startup communities.
