GJIIF 2025: South India’s Leading Jewellery Exhibition Achieves Outstanding Outcomes with Significant Attendance and Strong Sales

GJIIF offers a significant advantage as the trade gears up for Akshaya Tritiya. A notable rise in visitors from across India and international attendees has been observed. There was a remarkable presence of retailers, ranging from local shops to large corporate chains. The concurrent events, including a Networking Evening and Knowledge Seminars, enhanced the overall experience of the fair.

The Akshaya Tritiya edition of South India’s most established B2B jewellery event, the Gem & Jewellery India International Fair (GJIIF) 2025, achieved great success with attendance and business interactions surpassing expectations on all fronts.

The venue was bustling throughout the three-day event, attracting more than 10,000 visitors. The overall feedback from exhibitors indicated high satisfaction levels, as many secured immediate orders. A majority also highlighted their success in expanding their client networks with new potential contacts.

GJIIF, organized by the Jewellers and Diamond Traders Association, Madras (MJDTA) and Tamil Nadu Jewellers Federation (TNJF), stands as the only B2B jewellery exhibition in India focusing exclusively on South Indian jewellery. This particular edition, conducted from February 28 to March 2, 2025, was strategically scheduled to assist the trade in preparing for the significant Akshaya Tritiya festival.

Jayantilal Challani, Convener-GJIIF and President of MJDTA, remarked, “This year, GJIIF reached new heights in many aspects. Not only did we witness an increase in both exhibitors and visitors, but we also experienced positive sentiments fueling business agreements. As the sole show dedicated to South Indian jewellery, GJIIF has transformed into a key destination for major corporates and multi-store retailers, as well as numerous smaller and medium-sized retailers from the region.”

The exhibition showcased over 400 exhibitors across 870 stalls, occupying an impressive 200,000 sq ft of space. This included a number of well-known manufacturers and wholesalers, many of whom have been regular participants in the show for years. They regard GJIIF as the optimal platform to present new designs for the upcoming Akshaya Tritiya festival and see it as the Gateway to the South Indian Jewellery Market. Additionally, many new exhibitors caught attention with their unique and innovative products.

Over the years, GJIIF‘s profile has shifted from being primarily a regional trade fair to attracting attendees from around the nation. This year, GJIIF took a significant step forward by welcoming a considerable number of international buyers, including representatives from trade organizations in South Asia and Southeast Asia. Business visitors from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Russia, the Middle East, China, and several other regions were also present.

Highlighting the essential role of GJIIF for the retail sector, B Sabarinath, President of TNJF stated, “Most exhibitors experienced a high volume of visitors and reported successful business outcomes. Every attendee was eager to place orders to ensure they have fresh collections ready for the impending wedding and festival season. The variety on display was vast, showcasing numerous new designs that provided a modern take on traditional southern jewellery.”

GJIIF is acknowledged as a leading trade event due to its conducive business atmosphere. The registration processes, both before and during the event, have been refined to facilitate smoother access while adhering to strict B2B standards. The well-organized structure and exceptional hospitality significantly support participants in concentrating on their business objectives.

V.K. Manoj, Project Director of United Exhibitions, the event managers, commented, “Our Organising Team strives to elevate the standards each year when planning and executing GJIIF to ensure top-tier arrangements and hospitality.” GJIIF has become a cornerstone event for the South Indian jewellery industry, attracting the complete spectrum of the jewellery community—from the largest companies to the smallest retailers—to engage in business and make connections.

In addition to the primary event, there are also concurrent activities featuring high-quality and focused seminars, panel discussions, and educational sessions aimed at enhancing knowledge-sharing and future readiness. Among the highlights of the three-day occasion were the Networking Night and Gala Dinner, which provided informal interactions, captivating attendees with the remarkable performance by the globally acclaimed band STACCATO, a prominent name in international music circles.

The GJIIF Festive Edition 2025 is scheduled to take place in Chennai from September 12th to 14th, 2025.
