Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, spoke at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2025 on February 5-6, highlighting the great potential of India’s gems and jewellery sector and the critical role West Bengal can play in its growth.
Speaking during the summit, Mr. Ray emphasized that with the correct policy framework and government assistance, India’s gem and jewellery business can strengthen its position as a worldwide leader, particularly in the production of handcrafted plain gold jewelry.
Mr. Ray asked the state government to prioritize Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and facilitate their seamless integration into the greater value chain of the gem and jewelry industry.
