SRK boasts the lowest carbon emissions in diamond crafting.

Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), a prominent natural diamond exporter, has increased its sustainability efforts by obtaining the lowest carbon emissions in diamond manufacturing operations.

Deutsch Quality Systems (India) Private Limited conducted independent verification and determined that SRK has decreased greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per carat by 34% compared to the global industry average. This rigorous study, carried out in compliance with international standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and ISO 14064, covered the entire diamond supply chain.

As of November 2024, SRK‘s natural diamond emissions per carat stood at an impressive 70.49 kgCO2e, establishing a new industry standard. The company intends to significantly reduce emissions by increasing its reliance on renewable energy sources, particularly solar power, throughout its manufacturing sites.

“We are focused on creating a long-term, purely positive impact, not just for our business, but for the global natural diamond industry,” stated Dr. Nirav Mandir, SRK‘s Chief Human Capital and Sustainability Officer. “By addressing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and now targeting Scope 3, we are building a sustainable future that will benefit both our industry and the planet.”

SRK stated that in May 2024, it will be recognized as the world’s first corporation with Net-Zero Energy and LEED Platinum Green buildings.
