GGJS December 2024: A Sparkling Success in the Heart of India’s Jewellery Market

The Gujarat Gold Jewellery Show (GGJS) was held in December 2024 at the Helipad Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar Gujarat, was a resounding success. The show, which ran from 27th to 29th December, of three days attracted a significant number of trade visitors and exhibitors, with over 20,000 visitors attending across Pan India. The event featured 800 B2B stalls spread over 276,000 square feet, showcasing the finest collections of gold, diamond, and silver jewellery.

Organized jointly by GGJS Event Pvt. Ltd. and the Gold Ornaments Wholesale Jewellers Association (GOWJA), the event provided a premier platform for manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers to engage with a wide variety of jewellery designs tailored to the Indian market.

This edition was one of the largest in GGJS history, demonstrating the show’s rapid growth and prominence in the Indian jewellery industry. The timing of the event, aligning with the festive and wedding season, brought in a positive response, with buyers eager to stock up on the latest jewellery collections. Participants were impressed by the diverse range of trendy and traditional designs on display, further enhancing the show’s reputation as a must-attend event for sourcing Indian jewellery.

Overall, GGJS December 2024 solidified its position as a key event in the Indian jewellery calendar, with its growing popularity among both exhibitors and buyers, reflecting the increasing demand for high-quality, innovative jewellery in the market.

J20 – Young Jewellers Summit: A Platform for Growth and Connection

In addition to the exhibition, the J20 – Young Jewellers Summit provided a valuable opportunity for industry personalities to connect and celebrate the accomplishments within the jewellery community. The summit was an ideal forum for young and emerging jewellers to engage with established figures, share insights, and discuss the future of the industry.

The first panel discussion, titled “Cultural Significance of Gold and Jewellery: How Social Media is Changing Consumer Behaviour and Retail Innovations for a Connected Consumer,” was moderated by Mr. Amit Bandi of Kumari Fine Jewels. The session saw a dynamic group of speakers, including Mr. Ansh Anand (Punjab Jewels), Ms. Ashna Ranka (Ranka Jeweller), Mr. Dhruv Rastogi (Kamal Jewellers), , Ms. Parak Jain (Nazrana Fine Jewels), Ms. Priyanka Chopra (Chopra Sons Jewellers), Ms. Sradhya Roy (Bengal Jewellery), Mr. Siddharth Bajaj (Satyam Diamonds), and Mr. Yash Sheth (Shree Nathjee Jewellers). The discussion highlighted the evolving role of social media in shaping consumer preferences and how retailers are adapting to this transformation.

The second panel discussion, “New Generation Joining the Jewellery Business and What Challenges They Faced and Overcame with Innovative Solutions. How and Why Should All Jewellers Children Join the Business” was moderated by Mrs. Soma Bhatta of Retail Jeweller India. Key speakers for this session included Mr. Akshay Verma (Verma Jewellers), Mr. Gaurav Kataria (D.C. Jewellers), Ms. Harshita Agarwal (Harshita Jewellery House), Mr. Neel Pethe (Waman Hari Pethe), Mr. Ipsit Karmakar (Bidan Jewellery Works), and Ms. Surbhi Sheker (Manohar Lal Sarraf & Sons Jewellers). The panel delved into the hurdles faced by the younger generation in joining the family business and the innovative solutions they have brought to the table.

Swarn Samvaad: Shaping the Future of the Jewellery Industry

The Swarn Samvaad was Knowledge Seminar held discussions that were insightful and forward-thinking. One of the key sessions, “Conversation Shaping the Future of the Jewellery Industry,” brought together prominent speakers to discuss how the future of the jewellery business will unfold. Moderated by Mr. Anupam Rana from Retail Experience Expert, the discussion featured industry stalwarts such as Mr. Ajay Talla (Talla Jewellers), Mr. Darpan Anand (Punjab Jewels), Ms. Surbhi Sheker (Manohar Lal Sarraf & Sons Jewellers), and Mr. Vijay Davanam (Davanam Jewellers Pvt. Ltd.). This seminar opened up valuable dialogues on how the industry can evolve with changing trends and technologies.

GGJS December 2024 truly emerged as a hub for knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration and growth for the jewellery industry, with an exciting mix of innovative discussions, dynamic networking, and an unparalleled showcase of India’s jewellery excellence.
