BDB offers a discussion on the developments and problems in diamond identification.

As part of its ongoing Leadership Series, the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) presented a seminar on the latest breakthroughs and problems in identifying lab-grown diamonds from natural ones. Dr. Wuyi Wang, GIA‘s vice president of research and development, delivered the presentation and stated that the capacity to distinguish lab grown diamonds from real diamonds with full certainty was critical to retaining consumer confidence.

GIA‘s decades of independent research into natural and laboratory-grown diamonds is the foundation of our ability to differentiate them with complete certainty,” the president stated. “This helps ensure consumer confidence in gems and jewelry, which is vital to the gem and jewelry industry.”

Sriram Natarajan, managing director of GIA India, who led the session, stated that he and his colleagues were dedicated to making their research available to the global research community, the general public, and the gem and jewelry industries.”Our mission to ensure trust in gems and jewelry is built on nearly a century of pioneering research and education,” he told me.

Mehul Shah, vice president of BDB, the world’s largest diamond exchange, stated, “The insightful session on Challenges with Diamond Identification underscores BDB‘s pivotal role in the global diamonds, gem, and jewelry industry.”By tackling significant concerns, we reaffirm BDB‘s dedication to innovation, integrity, and leadership, as well as Mumbai’s status as a global diamond, gem, and jewelry hub.”
