GJEPC and ABSS host an export awareness seminar in Amritsar.

On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, a huge export awareness seminar was held, marking a landmark milestone for Amritsar’s gem and jewelry business. The Akhil Bhartiya Swarnkar Sangh (ABSS) conducted the event in partnership with the GJEPC to capitalise on the Amritsar Customs port’s recent announcement for jewellery export appraisals.

More than 250 jewellers, merchants, and manufacturers from the region attended the conference. Distinguished visitors, including GJEPC Chairman Mr. Vipul Shah and GJEPC Vice-Chairman Mr. Kirit Bhansali, attended the event to address the audience.

Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, stated that the clearance of Amritsar’s Customs port is more than just a logistical achievement; it is also an opportunity to promote the region’s world-renowned jadau jewellery workmanship. He discussed the Council’s many export-support programs, such as the IIJS exhibitions, India Jewellery Park, and free trade agreements with major markets.

Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Vice-Chairman of GJEPC, reiterated Shah’s comments and urged attendees to use the new facility to broaden their global reach. He reassured the industry of the Council’s ongoing support.

Other dignitaries, including Mr. Ashok Seth, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, delivered addresses at the seminar’s conclusion. The event allowed industry players to network, share insights, and explore new opportunities for growth. As Amritsar’s jewellery sector embraces this new era of export potential, the GJEPC remains committed to strengthening local firms and supporting India’s global trade objectives.
