On November 19, a high-level group from the Korean Embassy’s affiliated state-funded Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) paid a visit to the GJEPC Regional Office in Delhi. Mr. Anil Sankhwal, Regional Chairman-North, GJEPC, greeted the delegates.
Examining prospects in the Indian lab-grown diamond (LGD) market was the main goal of the gathering. Global key markets for LGDs and information on LGD manufacturing facilities were the main topics of discussion. Mr. Sanjeev Bhatia, GJEPC’s Regional Director-North, organized the visit.
Concerns about the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Korea and India were voiced by Mr. Anil Sankhwal. In order to address these issues and look into possible solutions, the Korean delegation promised to communicate with the Korean Embassy in Delhi. In order to enhance direct commercial relationships based on specific product demands, he also encouraged Korean buyers to attend the IIJS Premiere Show and Buyer-Seller Meets (BSM) in Korea or India.
The KOTRA delegation conveyed gratitude for the Council’s support to the expansion and advancement of the Indian gem and jewelry sector after visiting the Indian Institute of Gemmology and Jewellery (IIGJ) Regional Lab Centre.
