A four-day Customs Training Program for Appraisers began on November 4th at the Air Cargo Complex in Kolkata. GJEPC organized the program, which seeks to improve the abilities and expertise of Customs officials in the sector of gems and jewellery.
Mr. Shivaji Dange, Principal Commissioner of Customs (Airport & ACC), and Mr. S. Mondal, Joint Commissioner of Customs, IRS, opened the training session, which was attended by other authorities. Mr. Pankaj Parekh, Eastern Regional Chairman of GJEPC, gave the inaugural comments.
In his speech, Mr. Parekh emphasized the necessity of such training programs in enabling Customs agents to carry out their duties efficiently. He emphasized the importance of seamless and effective export operations, and he was confident that this program would provide participants with the skills they needed to achieve that aim.
The program, which runs until November 7, 2024, involves 22 Customs officials. The seminar is being led by experienced faculty members who will cover a variety of topics relating to Customs processes and regulations for the gems and jewellery industry.
