GJEPC‘s Delhi Regional Office, in partnership with Delhi Police, hosted a “Cyber Crime Prevention” lecture in Jhandewalan on August 31, 2024, to protect the gem and jewellery industry’s interests. The lecture was attended by Chief Guest Dr. B. Shanker Jaiswal, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police (Technology, Cyber, and Licensing), Delhi Police. Ashok Seth, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, and Anil Sankhwal, CoA Member, GJEPC, greeted the officer and presented a souvenir.
Ashok Seth emphasized the need of such workshops for jewellers in the face of rising cyber dangers. He asked Dr. Jaiswal to include representatives from the jewellery business in the police’s cybercrime prevention efforts.
Dr. Jaiswal gave a comprehensive lecture on various types of cybercrime and prevention strategies. He warned the audience to be wary of online scams and that they read the Reserve Bank of India’s article “Raju and the Forty Thieves”.
The conference was attended by approximately 30 exporters. The session closed with a vote of thanks from the Regional Chairman. During the event, Sanjeev Bhatia, Assistant Director of Delhi RO, GJEPC, presented an outline of the Council’s activities, including its major events and programs.
