The Jewelers Report Service of GIA Pilots

The Jewelry Report service, which provides information on the metal features, gemstone properties, and any existing engravings on submitted objects, is being tested by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

A thorough description of the submitted jewelry piece(s) is included in the GIA Jewelry Report, together with metal verification and ranges for the clarity, color, and carat weight of D-to-Z diamonds without prior GIA reports for unmounted diamonds. The precise grades and a link to GIA‘s Report Check for further verification will be included in the report, if the diamonds have GIA report numbers already in place. Information on any recent markings is also included in the GIA Jewelry Report.

For an extra charge, add-on services like fresh engravings, a 360-degree video of the jewelry, and more will be offered.

GIA‘s continued commitment to ensuring consumer confidence and trust in jewelry is extended with this service,” stated Tom Moses, Executive Vice President and Chief Laboratory Officer of GIA.

Every report number for the GIA Jewelry Report will be alphanumeric, guaranteeing each piece’s distinct and safe identification. The goal of GIA is to safeguard consumers and maintain the integrity of the gem and jewelry industries, and this new service is in line with that goal.
