On June 20th, GIA India presented a graduation ceremony for students who completed its Comprehensive CAD/CAM for Jewelry certificate program at its Mumbai site. Vaishali Banerjee, Managing Director of Platinum Guild India Pvt. Ltd., was the graduation ceremony’s chief guest, sharing her thoughts on the topic “Consumer Insights & Market Insights as a Springboard for Category Creation.”
Banerjee addressed the kids, saying, “This business requires fresh people, and education is required to ensure our industry is future-ready. India’s gem and jewellery industry is powerful and has a global presence, but we must work hard to assure its continued growth. GIA plays a crucial role in this, and I applaud the Institute’s efforts to ensure skilled people enters the industry.”
Apoorva Deshingkar, Senior Director – Education and Market Development, GIA India, said, “We are proud of our graduating students. The GIA Comprehensive CAD/CAM for Jewelry Certificate Program is an excellent complement to GIA’s Jewelry Design program but can also be pursued alone. We feel that delivering a combination of manual design and CAD/CAM in India will result in a talent pool of well-rounded jewelry design specialists in the industry.”
Isha Goyal, a GIA Comprehensive CAD/CAM for Jewelry Graduate, stated, “The gem and jewelry industry has always intrigued me, and I am not from the industry, so I decided to enroll in an educational program to gain understanding, and GIA was the first name that came to mind when I was looking for an institute.”
