In a pivotal meeting held today, June 11th, in New Delhi, Mr. Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chair of the Kimberley Process (KP) for 2024, met with Mr Siddharth Mahajan, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and focal point of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) in India, for discussions that highlighted collaborative efforts to advance KP objectives.
Mr. Mahajan praised the KP Chair’s leadership and the excellent organization of the KP Intersessional Meeting in Dubai. He emphasized the UAE Chairmanship’s effective and results-oriented approach, particularly the approval of the Administrative Decision (AD) on Co-Chairmanship and Co-Vice Chairmanship, in which India played an important role in reaching an agreement. Mr Mahajan emphasized the relevance of the “Year of Delivery” theme for 2024 and reaffirmed India’s support for the UAE’s commitment to actual results.
