To Promote Innovation and Growth, PGI India Unveils the 7th Edition of the Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet

This flagship gathering, scheduled for July 4th and 5th, 2024, will bring together 16 official platinum jewellery producers as well as major retail jewellery industry participants as part of the PGI initiative. The event, known for its emphasis on design excellence and innovation, provides a prime forum for PGI partners to develop their platinum commercial endeavors.

This year’s edition is expected to increase long-term demand for platinum jewellery while also nurturing and strengthening existing and new collaborations. The event will feature the debut of significant marketing campaigns for PGI‘s flagship branded categories, Platinum Love Bands, Platinum Evara, and Men of Platinum. These programs seek to increase seasonal demand through new marketing methods, broaden market opportunities, and promote effective customer interaction.

The Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet is an important forum for manufacturers to present their current design collections across the three branded categories. The event also promises increased business opportunities for retailers through product developments and new concepts, reaffirming PGI‘s objective of stimulating consumer demand and exploring new market opportunities for platinum jewellery.

Vaishali Banerjee, Managing Director of Platinum Guild International-India, expressed her excitement for the upcoming event, saying, “This platform was created to cooperate with our partners to build and expand platinum jewellery in India. This year’s emphasis on innovation, both in product and marketing, demonstrates our commitment to establishing platinum as the preferred choice among discerning consumers. Several industry professionals expressed their expectations and readiness for the event.

Rajesh Kalyanaraman, Executive Director of Kalyan Jewellers, emphasized the importance of contemporary designs and minimalist storylines that appeal to their customers. He stressed the event’s usefulness in sourcing new designs that respond to changing consumer demands.

Dipu Mehta, Managing Director of ORRA, stressed platinum’s importance in the company’s growth strategy and planned to use the event to explore novel concepts and strengthen ties with industry manufacturers.

Suvankar Sen, CEO and MD of Senco Gold & Diamonds, emphasized the company’s dedication to satisfying contemporary design demands through platinum jewellery, positioned it positively among the younger generation.

Avinash Pahuja, Director of ORO Precious Metals Pvt Ltd, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to demonstrate their bespoke designs and inventive capabilities in platinum jewellery at the event.

Colin Shah, Founder and Managing Director of Kama Jewelry, emphasized the event’s importance in identifying new business opportunities and showing trends inspired by younger demographics preferring sleek, exquisite platinum designs.

Madhu Jethwani Dhabuwala, CEO – jewels, India & Middle East at Jewelex India Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the company’s expertise in machine-made platinum jewels and its readiness to present expanded options that reflect worldwide trends and exceptional craftsmanship.

Nirmal Rawal, MD of BN Jewellers, planned to showcase their latest portfolio, focusing on innovation in men’s jewellery divisions and increasing consumer engagement with unique designs.

The last edition of the Platinum Buyer-Seller Meet in 2023 was a huge success, with manufacturers displaying different and contemporary platinum jewellery lines. These collections, notably in core categories such as Platinum Love Bands, Platinum Evara, and Men’s Platinum Jewelry, connected powerfully with changing consumer preferences and worldwide trends, driving large platinum jewellery sales throughout peak festive and wedding seasons.

As the 7th edition approaches, industry participants are preparing to use this platform for strategic collaborations, new showcases, and reinforcing platinum’s status as a timeless choice in luxury jewellery.
