Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2024, Alrosa CEO Pavel Marinychev emphasized the BRICS nations’ strong collective might. During a topical session, Marinychev emphasized the substantial economic influence of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS), which account for 35% of global GDP.

The major purpose of the workshop was to establish a conversation platform between the African Diamond Producers Association (ADPA) and BRICS+. The primary concerns highlighted at this platform included fair value distribution, investment attraction, R&D, and practice harmonization and knowledge transfer.
Participants unanimously endorsed the creation of this new debate forum. ADPA delegates emphasized the significance of bringing this subject to the organization’s next meeting, emphasizing the collaborative attitude and reciprocal advantages envisaged for the BRICS+ and ADPA collaboration.
