The most expensive piece of jewellery sold at the most recent Christie’s jewellery auction in Hong Kong was a blue diamond ring, which brought in HKD 68.9 million ($8.8 million).
The item, which includes a fancy-vivid-blue, internally perfect, grade IIb diamond with a pear-shaped cut that weighs 4.83 carats, was sold within the range of its estimate on May 27 at the Magnificent Jewels auction. It was one of many coloured diamonds that caught the eye.
