Legacy Jeweller Jagannath Gangaram Pednekar Earns IAGES Accreditation Across Store Network

Family-run heritage brand Jagannath Gangaram Pednekar Jewellers (JGP) has strengthened its focus on transparency, accountability, and customer trust by securing accreditation from the Indian Association for Gold Excellence and Standards (IAGES) across its 24 outlets in Maharashtra and Goa.

As India’s gold sector continues to formalise, long-standing jewellers are increasingly aligning with structured standards and ethical practices throughout the value chain. IAGES, a self-regulatory body created by the industry, aims to ensure greater clarity and accountability among retailers, manufacturers, refiners, bullion traders, hallmarking centres, and digital gold platforms. Accreditation is granted only after a detailed evaluation by an independent third-party assessor.

Founded in 1950, JGP Jewellers has built a legacy of over 75 years, offering traditional craftsmanship and designs to generations of customers.

Anand Pednekar, Director of JGP Jewellers, stated that the brand’s foundation has always been rooted in trust, authenticity, and transparency. He added that the IAGES accreditation further assures customers of ethical sourcing and transparent practices across all stores, while also expressing optimism about collaborating with industry peers to shape a more globally aligned and future-ready gold ecosystem.

The accreditation delivers value to both businesses and consumers. For jewellers, it signifies adherence to verified processes, ethical operations, and strong customer confidence.
